When conceiving the idea it was vital that the new college's appearance underlined
its attitude, aspirations and values.  Accordingly sustainability was a priority feature.
To guarantee it meets the highest environmental standards and reduces the carbon
footprint of the site, the main building has an array of sustainable features including
solar panels and wind turbines to provide power to the campus, as well as a rainwater
harvesting scheme involving recycling water to flush toilets.

Phase 1, a three-storey tower with a terrace and panoramic views of the city skyline,
is already fully operational.

A 60-place children's nursery with a distinctive, eye-catching green roof, home to thousands of slow growing sedum plants that change colour with the seasons, is also completed and fully open for business.

Work is currently underway on installation of the steel frames that will support the curved glass facade of the six-storey cathedral-style atrium along with the construction of a seven-storey block housing a learning resource centre and teaching and learning facilities.

As one of the key sub-contractors, DML are principally involved in the manufacture and installation of Kawneer curtain walling, as well as windows, entrances and fire screens.
