This extensive residential and commercial development principally comprised
the part-refurbishment of existing and ageing buildings mill buildings that had to be sympathetically remodelled in empathy with the original architectural style.
The scope of works primarily involved the design, manufacture and installation of aluminium windows incorporating glazed-in prodema panels to form a contrasting feature to the rainscreen cladding, along with various designs of polyester powder coated aluminium curtain walling, including three sided and facetted screens with differing glass types dependent on the elevation.
Much of the development was devoted to contemporary, executive standard apartments into which DML installed Senior Aluminium Systems 600 Frames with sliding or outward opening balcony doors to each apartment. Sliding doors were also installed to the Penthouse Suite.
We allowed for full height curtain walling to the stairwells and where the floorslabs interfaced with the curtain walling, we allowed for fire barriers.
Glazing also need to be specially calculated by an acoustician to ensure compliance with relevant UV Values to different areas of the building.
